Our Lenten Retreat “Eucharist – Discovering the Mass in the Bible” continues to attract a great number for which we are very blessed. We hope many of you who can’t attend are following the recap sheets that are on our website (Under Spirituality – Retreats and Spiritual Formation – Eucharist Discovering the Mass in the Bible). There is however still time to attend the retreat as we enter into the final 4 sessions. The retreat led by Canon Will and supported by material from Dr Brant Pitre has proved a dynamic and illuminating “hit” as it supports our learning in bringing the Bible basis of the Eucharist to life. Dr Pitre an Augustine scholar takes us through the Old and New Testament to discover the origins of the Eucharist – the source and summit of all we believe. Next session is on “Bread of Life; Discourse: John 6 and the Real Presence” in the upper new hall on Tuesday 27th February,7.45pm and the following Tuesdays 6th, 13th & 20th March. It would be lovely to see you there. This is an important discussion session and one that as Canon William reminded us brings us closer to an understanding of the Eucharist and its fundamental importance in our lives.
