We would like to give everyone the opportunity to know that the parish team, under the direction of Fr Will, is planning a retreat to take place during Advent 2017 and Lent 2018 which will focus on the theme of “Eucharist – Discovering the Mass in the Bible” and will lead us, as a parish, into the celebration that we will be joining as part of the National Eucharist Conference that will take place in September 7-9 in Liverpool in 2018 when the Bishops of England and Wales will be hosting this important event. The purpose of the Congress and therefore the work that will lead into this important celebration is to promote an awareness of the central place of the Eucharist in the life and mission of the Church. This is a 10 week course and retreat commencing in Advent for four weeks and Lent for six weeks. It will be led in DVD format by Brant Pitre, Professor of Sacred Scripture at Notre Dame University New Orleans. The course will consist of personal reflection and opportunities for Adoration and carries with it a useful workbook/study guide that can be followed on a daily basis. We recommend that this should be purchased (at present on offer for $21) for participants to really get the most out of this important retreat course. We will be using a selection of the material during the course. The website is: Further information and signing up sheets will be given out in September.
