South London Interfaith
The aim is to spread a better knowledge of the teachings , traditions and practices of the different faith communities in the UK.
To advance understanding between people of different faiih groups particularly in the South London area and to overcome prejudices and ignorance concerning these faiths.
To be a vehicle to promote friendships between people of different faiths whether or not these people are members of the group.
To support each other’s issues of common concern such as religious decimation and justice and peace in the community .
The South London Interfaith group works in partnership with other interfaith groups in South London.
Membership is open to all individuals living or working in the South London area.
Meetings are held on the last Thursday of the month at lunch time. Its aim is to learn about each other’s belief and practice. Visiting different places of worship ie Zain, Korean and Buddhist temples, Hindu Mandir, Muslim Mosques, Silk Gurdwara, Jewish liberal Synagogue, Peace Pagoda and Christian Churches.
By arranging events especially of a social cultural or religious kind, solidarity is encouraged between members, guests and other visitors.
